Set up a computer with a code
Create a setup code in your browser and email it to whoever is installing. They enter the code — no account and no password — and the computer arrives already named and ready. The old way meant typing your administrator password on an employee's machine, on an account that can read everyone's activity and change your billing.
Remote diagnostic tool sharing
Plug a J2534 pass-thru tool into the vehicle at the shop, and an expert anywhere works in the diagnostic software they already use — Toyota Techstream, VW ODIS, Ford FDRS — as if the tool were on their own bench. Diagnostics run over any connection; programming a module needs a direct, high-quality link and is refused automatically when the connection isn't good enough, so a dropped signal can't brick a module.
